sunrise in duck, north carolina on 8/25/11. with h. irene approaching, all visitors were about two hours away from being under a mandatory evacuation order from dare county.
we stayed until friday, i celebrated my 29th and did a quick interview before heading home.
as i type this, an hour ago h. irene made landfall in nj. damage is already underway in wayne. in montclair, we still have power and i’m about to rustle up some breakfast.
