kratlee:

i’ll just leave these here. [jratlee’s bookshelf]

funny thing was, i didn’t even realize i did this.  i only have the publication to the left because the original poster of this here post got one for bro montana that was signed.  a lowly peon bested by a publishing world raconteur.  tucker max was from dad.  to the right is tipping point by malcom gladwell.  to the left is a book about wine pairings.  first world problems, right?

i digress.  if you think about it, this time of year really is for assholes.  everyone is thinking about themselves.  wallowing in regret of opportunity missed, planning to fail or failing to plan in 2011 is fresh like hot breath on a car window.

E-books are “broken” in several ways that are important to kids, not the least of which is that paper books are super useful as floors in really tall block buildings.

On the extinction of paper children’s books

if the story is being told to you so much that it leaves no room for you to interpret, for you to understand and for you to imagine - where are you going?  you always need to leave room in our mind to process, juxtapose and grow.  maybe that’s the scary part - if someone else is telling so much of the story for you, what’s the point?
