A few months back a producer from the Simpsons contacted Carly about using her song ‘everyday’ for an upcoming episode in which they were going to parody my video. She was negotiating a rate for the song, until they never got back to her. No fee was agreed on, no contracts signed. She and I both assumed that they were no longer interested in using her song for the show. Last night the episode aired and sure enough her song is part of the show.
What’s up with that?!
I am thrilled that the Simpsons parodied me, but Carly should have been compensated. — noahkalina
I don’t watch the Simpsons. In fact, I think the show sort of sucks. I’ve never liked it. I’m not sure if it’s just not my kind of funny, the dislike of animation in general or the sub-par thought processes it shares with the greater majority of it’s fans. Either way, the fact that they’d pull something like this just solidifies my point of view. Is/does Fox still air the show? Are they the only network? We’re all very aware of their inability to function so fostering the stealing someone’s work isn’t a surprise. And no, I didn’t even watch the clip. Sorry, Noah.
